We are HONORED to start offering a series of classes called Sacred Sound Saturdays. In September, we will launch by hosting an incredible workshop with the wildly talented Laura Frank. Natural Voice
Have you forgotten? Your voice is mighty! Sing yourself back to life! Sing to remember, to grieve, to praise, to connect, to release. Sing and do it all with honor. Sing as an offering or a plea or to heart-fully celebrate another day where we find breath in our lungs once again! May we find the support and courage to share and heal through song and quality time.
Song, mantra and chant are powerful technologies for healing and spiritual practice in nearly every culture around the world. Group singing can help to widen one’s perceptions beyond the limits of the egoic mind, open the heart and enter into a group meditation or prayer. In our time together we seek to unravel misperceptions related to the voice and transform poisons of the past into medicine and fortification for ourselves and all beings.
All are welcome, especially those who feel blocked, injured or insecure in any matters relating to the throat chakra, communication or singing. We will work together to open and nourish the natural voice in a safe, ceremonial space.
This course will be presented in person.
This workshop includes
-introduction to medicine songs, sound healing and mantra
-introduction to the concept of the 7 chakra system with a focus on the throat chakra, the Vishuddha
-pranayama practice and yoga asanas to open the Vishuddah and expand lung capacity
-learning and singing of a medicine song and mantra
-vocal exercises
-creation of original material
-guided meditation and journal prompts
-discussion, sharing and conscious listening
Please bring: a notebook, water, something to sit on, a small sentimental item or something found in nature, flowers
