Natural Plant Dying Workshop: Day 1
Join us at the Food Commons for a community gathering to explore the art of natural dyeing. Together over the course of two afternoons, we'll harvest invasive plants from our local landscape and use them to dye fabric. With discussions hosted by local Indigenous Knowledge Keepers and in collaboration with the Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society, the gathering weaves together land stewardship, creative making, and community connection, and invites us to reconsider the stories we tell about plants and place. Participants will learn to identify invasive plants and harvest with intention, try their hand at natural dyeing, and sew a set of bunting flags that will live permanently at the Food Commons. Space is limited to 30 participants.
