About this Event
Join us for a short, but sweet class on working with and waking up California native seed! This workshop is from 1:30pm - 3:30pm. Topics to be covered include:
- Cleaning and identifying various species of native seed
- Practicing various seed treatment methods, including heat treatment, cold treatment, smoke treatment, scarification, and more
- Tips and tricks for sowing and growing out native seedlings
Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. (Questions? email - [email protected])

The seed workshop takes place from 1:30pm - 3:30pm.
This workshop will take place outdoors at the Rancho Sierra Vista nursery. Much of the class will take place under shade, but attendees should be prepared to stand for at least 2 hours and be exposed to the cold and sun for various lengths of time. Please wear hiking or outdoor working attire, bring water/reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and a sun hat. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. (Questions? email - [email protected])

1. Park in the final, bottom, lower visitor parking lot: Car Park for Sycamore Canyon
2. Walk past the left side of the bathrooms, past the Eucalyptus grove.
3. Walk into and past the horse stable area, and into Rancho Sierra Vista Nursery.

From the Ventura Fwy (101) to Lynn Rd exit. South on Lynn Rd 5.25 miles to Via Goleta. Park entrance is on the left.
