Join us for an engaging workshop where you'll learn about biodiversity, native plants & how to enhance your garden!
About this Event

Nature needs your help and it’s as simple as using native plants in your garden! Biodiversity, the variety of all living things necessary to sustain life, is declining because of climate change, habitat loss from increasing urbanization and agricultural practices. Come understand the importance of native plants, how to grow them to welcome pollinators and enhance the beauty of your garden.

Session 2: Winter Sowing

Learn how to wake up your seeds and get them ready to grow! In this hands-on workshop, the Toronto Master Gardeners will show you simple methods of Cold Moist Stratification—a natural process many native seeds need before they can sprout. Limited quantities of seed will be provided for anyone who didn’t join the earlier collecting session.

Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.

Registration: Public $20, TBG Members $15 (plus applicable taxes and fees)

Session 3: Native Plant Series: Potting Up Seedlings and Plant Exchange - Saturday, June 6, 2026
