Story County Conservation and Iowa Prairie Network are excited to celebrate spring by hosting a Native Plant Day + Sale on May 3 at McFarland Park. The goal of this event is to make native Iowa, local eco-type plants more accessible to the community while providing education on a variety of related topics.
Event will run Noon to 3:00 PM.
Presentation at 12:00 noon (see below).
At 12:00 Noon:
Sarah Nizzi, Pollinator Conservation Specialist with the Xerces Society, will present “How Small Spaces Can Make a Difference for Pollinators."
The presentation and event are free and open to the public; come for one or both! Plants available for purchase, and all are encouraged to attend whether you are an experienced native plant gardener or just getting started.
Numerous other like-minded community groups will be set up with relevant information, including:
- Ames Public Library, Seed Library
- Prairie Rivers of Iowa, Native Seed Library
- Xerces Society
