About this Event
Join Clemson Extension, Native Plants to the People, and Junction Kitchen for a fun and educational native plant container garden workshop on May 18, 2026. The workshop will take place at Junction Kitchen & Provisions (4438 Spruill Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405).
What You’ll Learn
- Introduction to native plants
- How to select the right plants for your project
- Overview of species that will be used in this project
- Proper planting techniques
- Soil amendments & mulch
- Maintenance recommendations
After the introductory presentation, participants will have the opportunity to help install native plants in the container garden.
Participants will also receive additional educational resources to take home for further learning.
Refreshments will be provided by Junction Kitchen
Agenda
- Check-in: 1:00–1:15 PM
- Welcome & Introductions: `1:15–1:30 PM
- Educational Presentations: 1:30–2:00 PM
- Hands-on Planting: 2:00 - 4:00 PM
What to Wear/Bring
- Closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty
- Refillable water bottle
- Sun protection
All planting tools will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own garden gloves if preferred. Light refreshments and a water cooler will be available.

Registration will remain open until 4:00 PM on Friday, May 15, or until the workshop is full.
