What happens at the Open Day?
Sunday 30 January 2022 - 2pm-5pm
Arrival and registration from 1.30pm
Join us for a free two-hour workshop exploring an introduction to the National Youth Theatre's ethos and approach to ensemble theatre making. As part of the workshop explore self-taping for auditions, ideal for those who have not experience self-taping before or who want to further explore their approach.
A Q&A will follow the two-hour workshop, learn from National Youth Theatre Associate Artists and National Youth Theatre Ambassadors about upcoming opportunities and what to expect as a National Youth Theatre Member.
Who is the Open Day for?
Our National Youth Theatre Auditions Open Day is ideal for young people aged 13-25 who are interested in taking part in our auditions to join us in 2022. This year auditions take place online via the National Youth Theatre Hub.
Auditions are a two-step process including:
Round 1: Submit a self-tape Round 2: Live Digital Recall

You can sign up for your Hub Subscription now for £2-a-month or £24-a-year.
What do I need to do to prepare for the Open Day?
We recommend bringing a bottle of water and wearing comfortable clothing for movement exercises.
In terms of our COVID-19 policy for visitors, upon entry you will need to provide proof of a negative lateral flow test taken on the morning of the Open Day. Mask wearing is required when moving throughout the building.
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms as listed here, we ask that you do not come along to the Open Day.
