National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance - Finals

The National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance is the premier performance competition of the American Guild of Organists. Winners spanning several decades have gone on to establish prominent careers, with many first-prize winners remaining on artist management rosters long after their term as an NYACOP winner has concluded. This in itself is a testament to the competition’s historic strength in identifying successful performance artists. By encouraging the refinement of performance ability, the competition aims to identify those performers best prepared to inspire audiences in years ahead and those who will benefit from the career development that is an intrinsic part of the NYACOP award. The 2024 NYACOP began last fall with the Application Round which was conducted by recording. The nine semifinalists were selected to play in the Semifinal Round, which is being held on June 27, 2024: Tyler Boehmer, Jerrick Cavagnaro, Ryan Chan, Andrew Johnson, Jacob Montgomery, Ali Santos, Jennifer Shin, Victoria Shorokhova, and Destin Wernicke.

Five competitors advance to this Final Round competition (the finalists are not known at the time of this publication).

The first-prize winner receives $13,000 in cash awards, career development assistance from Karen McFarlane Artists Inc., a selection of recital awards throughout the United States, and a CD recording on the Pro Organo label.
