Born in 1948, Joe graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1966 and joined the United States Army the following year. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. After returning home, he earned a B.A. in Social Work from Lock Haven University in 1977 and spent 25 years working with abused and neglected children before retiring in 2010.
In 2000, Joe also led the effort to establish a monument honoring Williamsport’s founder, Michael Ross. Today, he continues to share his creativity and stories as both an artist and author. He is married and has three children.
