Join volunteers from around Australia as we mark National Tree Day at Marion. Friends of Sturt River Landcare Group volunteers will meet at Oaklands Reserve to remove weeds and replace them with biodiversity plantings. This is a great time to learn which local-native plants belong in Marion and how to plant, water and care for them.
NUMBERS ARE CAPPED - MEETING POINT
Please note places for this event are capped at 60 people. Email [email protected] to rsvp prior to the event and save your spot. Meet at the registration desk in the main carpark at the rear of Oaklands Wetland. You MUST contact us prior to the day if you are thinking of bringing a large group with you.
WHAT TO BRING
BYO small hand trowel and gloves
BYO personal health items (eg asthma puffer, medications)
BYO water bottle and snacks.
The friends can supply gloves, PPE, W**d bags, hand tools, insurance, plant/W**d identification and supervision. We also supply a celebration morning tea at the end of the working bee.
WHAT TO WEAR
This is an outdoor event held in winter. You will be comfortable in closed, flat shoes, long pants, long-sleeved top, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. A spray jacket is a good addition in case of light showers.
PLANTS
We plant only local-natives to improve shade, shelter and biodiversity. Seedlings supplied by City of Marion and thanks to the kind donation of Mary Redmond and family.
