American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day (NTD), an annual trail awareness program, is an opportunity to celebrate the 200,000+ miles of outdoor trails in our county. Take part in an effort to promote healthy living, protect green space, educate adults and youth on the importance of trails, and excitement for the outdoors. This local National Trail Day event is focused on trail maintenance and collecting litter and debris left on the Gin Branch Greenspace as a Keep-PTC-Beautiful Adopt-A-Path program. Participating Peachtree City residents are eligible to apply for stormwater utility credit.
The Peachtree City Gin Branch Greenspace consists of over 21 acres of undeveloped public greenspace with connecting multi-use paths and existing trails along the Gin Branch of Flat Creek. There is a potential to develop and improve over 1 mile of natural surface trails suitable for hiking, trail running and mountain biking to serve as a Kedron neighborhood outdoor recreation area. This proposed project is included in the 2025 Peachtree City Recreation Master Plan.
Please bring work gloves and wear hiking shoes as we travel our way through the area working on the trails and collecting trash. Snacks and beverages will be supplied by the SouthSide Cycling Club.
