About this Event
Celebrate National Refugee Shabbat at this inclusive service led by Rabbi Nora. With reflections from guest speakers and music from Sixth & I musicians, the service blends contemporary and traditional elements for an experience that feels both familiar and fresh. Stay after for a seasonal meal prepared by chefs at Emma’s Torch, a social enterprise that empowers refugees through culinary education and job readiness training.

To start
Kunik bloomy rind cheese with baguette, cherry mustard, and spiced nuts (vegetarian)
Kale salad with roasted winter squash, dried cherries, red onion, spiced nuts, and maple vinaigrette (vegan, GF)
Dinner
Pan-seared fish with Hoppinʼ John, green onions & sauce piquant (GF)
Butternut squash pasta with red onion, sage, and pumpkin seed gremolata (vegan)
Dessert
Knafeh (shredded filo dough) layered with cheese and topped with orange syrup (vegetarian, GF and vegan dessert available by request)

Sixth & I strives to be an accessible and welcoming resource for the community by offering affordable experiences, including Shabbat dinners. The subsidized price of $18 is intended for young professionals or those with financial need and does not reflect the true cost of the meal provided ($36).
