About the Event:
Each year, Reconciliation Tasmania hosts events during National Reconciliation Week that bring people together to reflect, listen deeply and take meaningful steps towards a more just and respectful future in Lutruwita / Tasmania.
The Launceston on Kanamaluka / River Tamar National Reconciliation Week Breakfast forms part of our statewide program of events, welcoming community members, leaders, organisations and government representatives to listen, learn and reflect together.
Our breakfasts are grounded in truth-telling and truth-listening, centring Tasmanian Aboriginal voices, lived experiences and perspectives. Speakers share powerful and deeply personal stories that challenge assumptions, provoke reflection and inspire meaningful action.
Reconciliation Tasmania works alongside Tasmanian Aboriginal people to advance truth, justice and a better future through education, leadership and advocacy across the wider community. These gatherings foster understanding, strengthen relationships and encourage participants to consider the role they can play in advancing reconciliation in practical and lasting ways.

Building on the Success of 2025:
Our 2025 National Reconciliation Week Breakfast Program was our most significant to date, bringing together more than 1,500 people across the state to listen, learn and take part in powerful moments of truth-telling.
Across each event, speakers shared deeply personal stories and perspectives that challenged assumptions, provoked reflection and created lasting impact. These conversations are sometimes challenging and uncomfortable, but they are valuable and sit at the heart of meaningful change.
The 2026 program continues to build on this momentum, creating space for important conversations and encouraging all of us to step forward and take action in support of reconciliation.
