Join us for National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28th!Historic structures from the 19th and 20th century are protected at Charles Pinckney National Historic Site. Join us for a day of weeding, trimming, and cutting back overgrowth on the trail and around the historic caretaker's cottage so that these resources can be enjoyed by visitors.
The trail cleanup will be approximately from 9:00AM - 12:00PM. Breaks for water and resting in the shade will be encouraged throughout the work day. Volunteers are welcome to enjoy the exhibit in the historic home for free to access air conditioning.
The National Historic Site is located at 1254 Long Point Road. Please join Park Rangers at 9:00AM to begin work. Closed toe shoes, protective clothing, and a reusable water bottle are required. A limited amount of tools are available for use, we suggest that you bring your own hand tools and cutters for your comfort. We also suggest you bring hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and snacks/ a lunch to enjoy under the covered picnic pavilion. Hot, humid conditions are expected. If rain occurs, the event will be cancelled.
