National Public Health Week Kickoff Celebration

The Health-Aid Initiative, powered by the Empowerment Community Development Corporation (Empowerment CDC), is proud to announce its participation in National Public Health Week, an initiative of the American Public Health Association.

To celebrate the importance of community wellness, prevention, and health equity, Empowerment CDC will host a National Public Health Week Kickoff Celebration on:

The celebration will feature live performances by the Texas College Stampede Band, the Glamorous Golden Girls, and the Shimmering Silks, bringing energy and excitement to an evening focused on strengthening community health across East Texas.

This event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

National Public Health Week highlights the importance of creating healthier communities through collaboration, education, and access to resources. Through its Health-Aid Initiative, Empowerment CDC works to educate, equip, and empower individuals and families with tools that support healthier lifestyles and stronger communities.

“Public health starts at the community level,” said Ebby Starling, Director of Empowerment CDC Health-Aid Initiative. “This kickoff celebration is about bringing people together, raising awareness, and reminding our community that health equity, prevention, and wellness are shared responsibilities. When we invest in public health, we invest in the future of East Texas.”
