At the National Inventors Hall of Fame® Museum, students will explore the stories of more than 600 world-changing inventors — from pioneering scientists and engineers to creative minds who turned simple ideas into life-changing innovations.
The mission of the National Inventors Hall of Fame® is to recognize inventors, promote creativity, and advance the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship.
They honor the greatest inventors who have built the world around us, inspire the innovators of tomorrow, and challenge today’s creative thinkers to design the future.
Visitors will:
Meet real inventors through engaging exhibits and stories
Explore hands-on STEM activities that spark imagination
Discover how innovation continues to shape our daily lives
Tour Groups & Schedule
🧩 Group 1 – PreK to 3rd Grade
10:00 – 10:30 AM: Guided Tour with Museum Staff
10:30 – 11:00 AM: Scavenger Hunt & Independent Exploration
11:00 AM: Group 1 Departs from the Museum
⚙️ Group 2 – 4th to 12th Grade
11:00 – 11:30 AM: Guided Tour with Museum Staff
11:30 – 12:00 PM: Scavenger Hunt & Independent Exploration
12:00 PM: Group 2 Departs from the Museum
Date: Monday, December 1, 2025 at 10:00am-11:00am (PreK-3rd Grade) and 11:00am - 12:00pm (4th-12th Grade)
Location: 600 Dulany St, Alexandria, VA 22314 (Located inside the United States Patent and Trademark Office Campus, Madison Building)
Price: There is no cost for admission, but please register to reserve your spot. Limited Spots Available.
Parking: Find convenient parking in the East Garage at 551 John Carlyle St. in Alexandria. Hourly and daily parking is available from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on federal holidays. Parking costs $3 per hour, with a daily maximum of $10. Parking validation may also be available up to a maximum of $8 - please check with building security for more information. Also, metro accessible.
