Meet up with other historical costumers and costume enthusiasts for what promises to be a fabulous exhibit! If you would like to dress for the era of Impressionism (1870s) this would be a great opportunity, but all eras are welcome. And as always, historical dress is admired but never required! If you're just getting into the hobby and don't have an outfit together, please don't stress about the dress - just come anyway and meet other like-minded folks!Admission to the National Gallery of Art is free, though there may be timed entry tickets for the Impressionism exhibit.
Please be mindful when deciding what to wear. Dandy Wellington's catchphrase "Vintage Style, Not Vintage Values" is an excellent guideline to follow. We also ask that you avoid any type of appropriative style or "culture as costume."
We will meet in the rotunda near the fountain: https://www.nga.gov/collection/locationview.html?floor=wb-main
