National Canadian Film Day - FREE SCREENING
Join us for a free screening at the Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Toronto. We’ll be screening “Because We Are Girls” by Baljit Sangra, followed by a new short documentary by a Toronto-based filmmaker that continues the conversation around family and healing.
We'll also host a Q&A session with the directors and filming staff to further discuss the themes of family, love, weaving the past and the present and finding oneself.

'Because We Are Girls' Synopsis: is a Canadian documentary film, directed by Baljit Sangra and released in 2019. The film centres 3 Punjabi Canadian sisters from British Colombia who have gone public in adulthood about allegations of abuse by a family member who frequently babysat them as children.
