✨ Celebrate National Astronomy Day! ✨Join the Shoreline Amateur Astronomical Association for a free, family-friendly day of discovery at the observatory. Explore the wonders of the universe through solar telescope viewing, a planet walk, an evening lecture, and nighttime observing (weather and cloud cover permitting).
🔭 What to expect:
• Solar telescope viewing (during the day)
• A self-guided Planet Walk
• An evening lecture: Perspectives of Scale
• Nighttime observing and constellation stories (weather permitting)

☀️ If skies are clear:
12:00-5:00 PM
• Solar observing with Coronado & Meade LX-600 telescopes
• Planet Walk along the observatory path
7:00-8:15 PM
• Perspectives of Scale lecture
8:15 PM-Midnight
• Night sky observing with a 16” LX-600 and additional telescopes
• Constellation identification & mythological stories
☁️ If weather doesn’t cooperate:
12:00-5:00 PM
• Indoor Planet Walk display & telescope exhibit
• Space-themed videos
7:00-8:15 PM
• Perspectives of Scale lecture
