📢 **Welcome to NARD 16 – National Animal Rights Day 2026 (Malta Edition)** 🖤Join us for the 6th annual National Animal Rights Day in Malta, part of the 16th global edition of this international event held across hundreds of cities around the world. Together, we will honour the lives of animals, raise awareness about the injustice they endure, and educate the public about the solution of living by the vegan principle.
🕯️ **WHAT TO EXPECT**
This year’s edition of NARD Malta will be intentionally minimalistic, solemn, and symbolic.
As in previous years, we will begin with a silent funeral march through Valletta in memory of the billions of animals who die every year at human hands. However, this year we will introduce a more artistic and symbolic tone to the ceremony itself.
Participants will wear white masks during the ceremony and stand surrounding the Triton Fountain, creating a silent visual representation of solidarity with the victims of animal exploitation.
The ceremony will include:
● A silent funeral march from St. George’s Square to the Triton Fountain
● A speech by organizer Christos Polychronakis
● 10 minutes of silence and solidarity for the animals, accompanied by music
● Reading and signing of the Declaration of Animal Rights

🕡 Meeting time: 18:30
📍 Meeting point: St. George’s Square, Valletta
We will begin with check-in and preparation before starting the silent march toward the Triton Fountain, where the ceremony will take place.
🧥 **WHAT TO WEAR**
Participants are asked to wear:
• The official NARD T-shirt (2023–2026 globe design)
• OR plain black non-branded clothing

🎭 White masks for the ceremony will be provided by the organizers.
🎉 **PRE-EVENT SOCIAL GATHERING & REHEARSAL**
This year, instead of gathering after the event, we will meet the evening before for a vegan social gathering and quiz night, which will also serve as a light rehearsal for the event itself.
This will additionally allow participants to collect any ordered T-shirts before the event day, as we realised that distributing them on the same evening often becomes too rushed and delayed.
