In months that have 5 Saturdays, Bruno Giles and Dave C. co-host the Natick Open Mic at the Common Street Spiritual Center in Natick MA.
And because May has 5 Saturdays, we'll be having an open mic on the 30th.
You are invited to attend either as an audience member or as a performer. Everyone gets in for only $5 per person (including performers -- sorry, but somebody's gotta pay the rent).
Doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7pm.
If you want to get your name on the roster as a performer to ensure you get some stage time, then contact Bruno Giles any time this week.
Each performer gets 8 minutes of stage time (which includes both your setup and teardown).
You can play some music, tell a story, sing a song, read a poem, do a dance.... pretty much anything that is tasteful and entertaining.
We provide the sound and lights and you provide the talent.
A baby grand piano is available for you to use.
The order of performances is decided by Bruno on the night of the show.
Groups should have a maximum of 4 members.
We ask that all acts be as "live" as possible, i.e. we shy away from using pre-recorded backing tracks etc.
All skill levels are welcome, so this is an opportunity to try something out, even if it's not polished or perfect. The audience is very encouraging and forgiving, so take a chance and give it a shot.
