Join us on March 21, 2025, for an In-Person half day workshop at Columbia College's Women's Business Center from 8:30am-12:15pm. Presenters Dr. Ashaad Hipps, LISW-CP will present on Building Emotional Resilience: Strategies for Effective Emotional Regulation in Social Work Practice and Presenter Alexis Scurry, LMSW, CPS will present on Challenging Your Biases and Stereotypes. 3 Social Work Ceu's Awarded! Presentations start at 9am but please come at 8:30am to enjoy fellowship and refreshments before we begin.
Workshop descriptions:
Building Emotional Resilience: Strategies for Effective Emotional Regulation in Social Work Practice – participants will be able to define emotional regulation and recognize the role emotional regulation plays in supporting both the clients and oneself in managing emotional responses effectively.
Challenging Your Biases and Stereotypes – participates will be able to identify and challenge existing prejudices, biases and stereotypes and understand how your beliefs and values can impact your practice.
