About this Event
About this Workshop:
In this six-hour intensive workshop, intermediate and advanced musical improvisers will have the opportunity to learn to improvise a narrative musical in five scenes.
Tara Copeland provides a deep dive into narrative structure, focusing on the song types and characters that allow for satisfying musical stories. Students will learn how to tell a compelling musical story without writing or directing--simply by "yes, anding" their characters' wants and needs to a resolution.
Date, Time & Location: This six-hour intensive workshop will take place on Sunday, July 12th from 10:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm - 5:00pm in San Francisco (venue to be announced soon).
Intermediate/Advanced Students Welcome: This workshop is open to those who have studied or performed musical improv at the intermediate or advanced level. If you have never studied musical improv or have only taken one or two classes, please know that your registration will be cancelled.
