Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 “Italian” follows, inspired by the composer’s travels and full of sunny warmth, spirited rhythms, and joyful melodies that capture the Mediterranean’s vibrant character. The program features Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Concerto for 2 Guitars and Orchestra, brought to life by amazing brother-due, Ziggy & Miles Johnson, delivering a romantic and cinematic exploration of Mediterranean lyricism. The evening concludes with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol, a dazzling suite of Spanish-inspired dances and dazzling orchestral solos, providing a festive and vivid musical finale.
