Nanoscale manufacturing research for societal benefitsDescription:
Micro/nano scale manufacturing is ubiquitous to many day-to-day applications we see in life, particularly to save materials, space and power consumption, improved system’s overall efficiency and ease of transportation.
At the epicenter of miniaturization, lies the role of manufacturing and materials but our understanding about the interconnect between the two especially at sub-micron scale is very limited.
The area of nanoscale manufacturing research with focus on societal applications is now expanding itself across sectors spanning from healthcare, space, transport and many others.
The talks surveys these applications and discusses how sustainable future goes via this learning.
