Let’s take the opportunity during NAIDOC Week 2024 to listen, learn and engage in meaningful dialogue with our First Nations peoples. ?Next Thursday, 4 July, join us to celebrate our indigenous culture ahead of NAIDOC Week with a Flag Raising ceremony and special Yidaki (didgeridoo) performance at Malvern Town Hall.
Both the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags will be raised and accompanied by a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by representatives from the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people and Yugerra and Ugarem Le man, John Wayne Parsons, who will share stories from his lands.
Following proceedings, enjoy some light refreshments and a cuppa.
