Greetings unto the Kingdom of Caid! Announcing the Barony of Naevehjem’s Anniversary Championships & Frost Dragon Tourney for 2025. Another GWW has ended and later each morning the sun awakens. The Bard reminds us “That time of year thou mayest . . . behold when yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang upon those boughs that do shake against the cold." Fading day, the ever earlier retreat of the sun behind our western mountains, yields this anniversary’s theme:
Falling Into Winter
Come, help us warm our hearts and defend our home against the return of the Frost Dragon. Tourneys will determine Naevehjem’s Champions for Armored Combat, Rapier, Thrown Weapons, and Archery. The concluding Frost Dragon slaying is a boffers event. Competition for Arts&Sciences Champion, and Baroness’s Choice Dessert and Most Period Dessert. Bardic performances are most welcome.
SCHEDULE:
8:00am - Gate opens
9:00am - Lists opens
10:00am - Opening Court (or at Their Royal Majesties’ pleasure)
Classes start 15 minutes after Court. Lists close 15 minutes after Court.
Tournaments commence 15 minutes after Lists close.
11:30am - Kids Activity Dragons/pumpkins
2:00pm - Gate closes. Bardic competition begins.
2:30pm - Arts&Sciences submissions close. Dessert submissions close.
3:00pm - Judging commences for Arts&Sciences/Dessert.
Frost Dragon Slaying Competition commences 15 minutes after tournament finals.
4:00pm - Closing Court. Winners announced.
5:00pm - Site closes
EVENT REGISTRATION:
Adult Event Registration: $20
Adult Member Discounted Event Registration: $15
Kids/Youth aged 17 and under are guests of the Barony.
Event registration fee is payable by cash or checks payable to: “SCA, Inc./Barony of Naevehjem”. No credit cards accepted at this event.
ARCHERY/THROWN WEAPONS: Come show off your bow/throwing skills! Who will our next Baronial Champions be?
ARTS & SCIENCES COMPETITION:
Theme: "Falling Into Winter.” Our Baroness has an appreciation for all things seasonal, cozy, useful, or lovely, and will judge the competition. Her choice will be made our new Baronial Champion! The populace will also have a chance to choose their favorite as well, so be sure to stop by and vote for your favorite for Populace Choice!
Fighters! If you submit an art form for the Arts and Sciences competition, you will be granted a resurrection for one additional round should you be eliminated in the tournament bouts. Be sure to bring your submission to the Arts & Sciences table and receive your extra life token.
BARDIC COMPETITION: The Baroness will decide who took the stage with their performance and name them the Bard of Naevehjem!
LUNCH: Taco lunch available for a donation.
DESSERT COMPETITION: In memory of our beloved Baron Liam, a connoisseur of sweet delicacies, our dear Baroness will judge the annual dessert competition; so be sure to bring your most delicious treats for her to taste.
CLASSES: With ample indoor space, we are pleased to provide our guests a place to teach, learn and engage in everything the SCA has to offer! Interested in running a class? Please be sure to email the event stewards by November 5, 2025 of your intention regarding the details of your class and whatever needs or accommodations we will need to provide to you.
YOUTH ACTIVITIES: Games, decorating pumpkin dragons & reverse glass painting dragon eyes.

From CA 395 North: take the right exit onto CA 395 Business/China Lake Blvd., turn right on Bowman Rd., then take a left onto Richmond Rd. Event site will be to the right.
