About the Artist:
Gina Herrera is a mixed-media artist whose work reflects her Native American (Tesuque Pueblo) and Costa Rican heritage. A veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, Herrera’s 25 years of military service and her passion for environmental justice deeply inform her art. She creates sculptures and assemblages from natural and salvaged materials—branches, metals, plastics, and found objects—to explore humanity’s relationship with the environment and the aftermath of conflict.
Her work has been exhibited extensively across California and nationally, and has been featured on Peacock TV and Hulu.
