On Saturday, in several blocks, we will

cover the basics of Sanskrit pronunciation, so that the mantras we will then go through are learnt properly (rather than having to unlearn bad habits later!)
learn three fundamental mantras for a morning mental reprogramming practice, where these powerful sounds are combined with meditation and intention setting for maximum benefit. The philosophy there is: when you get your morning right, the rest of the day will be greatly improved, too.
learn how mantras can be combined with other yoga practices, such as asana (movements and postures) and pranayama (energy work through breath), to boost their effects and turn them into powerful meditations
you
explore mantra as a medium for bhakti yoga - the yogic science of emotional transformation, including kirtan (call-and-response singing), japa (continuous repetition), and ajapa japa (a meditation where mantra, awareness, and breath all combine into a wonderfully consciousness-altering experience)
In the evening, we'll also have the experience of a very simple form of havan, a very ancient Vedic fire ceremony where purifying herbs are offered into a fire with the chanting of a mantra we will have learnt earlier in the day

On Sunday, the experience will be of a very different kind: even though some more mantras will be learnt, the focus will be on the experience of pure sound flow (nāda) through the practice of swara sadhana.

In it, the notes of a musical scale will be sung with meditative awareness and with changing patterns. The effects of that are very deep relaxation at a cellular level, opening of voice (and with it, the mind, emotions, confidence, and energy). There will, of course, also be space for some questions and answers.

Additionally, every participant will receive printed materials with QR codes linked with recordings you can practise with at home, so that the retreat experience won't remain a one-off but instead can serve as a new beginning on your path of self-development.
