About this Event
The Healing Through the Sound of Music's critically acclaimed flagship production, “The Fannie Lou Hamer Story, Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired”, written and performed by Viv Award (Black Tony), multi-award-winning playwright, actress, and internationally acclaimed vocalist Mzuri Moyo Aimbaye captivates audiences across the country in her Voice of the Empowered (V.O.T.E.) tour. This moving portrayal weaves together inspiring music and provocative theater in storytelling paying homage to the legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer—a trailblazing civil rights activist and relentless champion of voting rights. We are also commemorating the 60th anniversary of Fannie Lou Hamer’s historic 1964 DNC Credential’s Committee testimony of her brutal J*il house beating just for registering to vote which exposed America’s Apartheid policies to the world and became a tipping point to the passage of the Voters’ Right Act of 1965.
Get ready to be inspired by powerful performances and storytelling that will leave you moved and motivated. Don't miss out on this special opportunity to honor a true American hero. Secure your tickets now!
