This time we're collaboarting with Homebaked CLT and the Cosy Homes Club!
The Cosy Homes Club is a group of local people working together because we believe everyone deserves a warm and healthy home. We are aiming to understand more about home energy usage and attitudes towards energy in our community, and also want to understand what people think about housing retrofit and energy efficiency. This research will help to inform Homebaked CLT’s wider plan to support a community-led and area-based retrofit scheme to combat fuel poverty and related health issues within Anfield and Everton.
This month we are sharing the details of the performance we will be watching as it's a special occasaion
Dampbusters by Easthall Theatre Group
Dampbusters (1990) is a community play written and staged by the Easthall Theatre Group. Dampbusters (1990) was performed in Easterhouse during the City of Culture in 1990.
The play responds to what residents saw as their own ‘culture’, the penicillium and aspergillum moulds growing on the walls of their flats, the play toured greater Glasgow to raise awareness of the health risks inherent in damp housing.
We will also be showing Winnie Herbstiens film of the same name, which follows the legacy of this project and what community groups in Glasgow are organaising now.
