Starting from 7pm until late, MyCool Quartet & Friends take over
Sean & Dolly’s for a full-bodied night of live jazz, featuring three bands and a room that knows how to listen.
Hosting the evening is MyCool Quartet, one of Sydney’s quietly rising jazz combos - long on feel, short on ego.
Drawing influence from Emily Remler, Gustav Lundgren, Clifford Brown, and Wynton Marsalis, the group explores the language of hard bop with respect for tradition and just enough rebellion to keep it interesting.
Expect sharp ensemble playing, fearless improvisation, and original compositions that nod to the past without getting stuck there. This is jazz that knows where it comes from - and isn’t afraid to wander.
