Mycelium Materials Workshop - 21st March
In this beginner-friendly session, you’ll cast your own living mycelium sculpture and take it home to finish. With just 7 people per workshop, it’s relaxed, practical, and guided throughout.

What’s included
- Intro to mycelium as a material
- Hands-on casting session
- Lab tour + core equipment overview
- One living cast piece to take home
You’ll finish your piece at home by incubating, demoulding, and drying — full guidance provided.
What to bring
Nothing — all materials included.
Optional: bring a mould (email ahead to check size/suitability).
Who it’s for
Beginners, artists, designers, makers, and the material-curious. No experience needed.
Come get your hands messy and leave with something alive.
Led by Ashley Goldbirch, mycelium material grower with 7+ years’ experience in sculpture, interiors, and bio-design.
Pricing
- Standard ticket — £52.50
Everything included: materials, guidance, and a 2-hour hands-on session where you’ll make and take home your own living mycelium sculpture.
- Concession ticket — £42.50 (students & people on benefits)
We keep a small number of lower-priced spots available each session to make the workshop more accessible.
- Pay-it-forward add-on — +£10 (optional)
