About this Event
BASTIEN BRON / MY NAME IS FUZZY PRESENTS SAMPLES AT ESPRONCEDA
ESPRONCEDA Institute of Art & Culture presents SAMPLES, a new interactive installation by Swiss interdisciplinary artist Bastien Bron, working under his artistic identity My Name is Fuzzy.
Transforming sound into visual form, SAMPLES invites audiences into a playful and immersive environment where movement, proximity, and collective participation generate music in real time. Through a series of large-scale mixed-media panels representing sound waveforms, visitors activate the installation simply by moving through the space — becoming performers, collaborators, and composers within the artwork itself.
Blending visual art, music, technology, and performance, the exhibition explores new ways of experiencing sound and participation beyond traditional concert or gallery formats. Designed as what the artist describes as an “analog augmented reality,” the installation creates an interactive experience without screens or visible interfaces, where the body becomes the instrument activating the work.
Visitors are also invited to meet Bastien Bron during a special Artist Talk on Thursday, June 19, offering a unique opportunity to hear directly from the artist about the creative process behind SAMPLES, his experience as an internationally touring artist, and his interdisciplinary practice combining music, live installation, performance, and interactive technologies. The conversation will explore how Bron reimagines the relationship between audiences, sound, and participation through immersive artistic experiences.
The exhibition opens on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with an Opening Reception from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by the Artist Talk on Thursday, June 19 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
