Introduction to Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/Tapping)
EFT Tapping is one of my favourite practices, simply because I’ve witnessed so many powerful shifts happen in such a short amount of time. Even after years of exploring it, the transformations people experience, sometimes within minutes, still amaze me.
EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques, is a gentle self-help practice that blends mindful attention with light fingertip tapping on specific points of the body. These points are often associated with traditional acupuncture meridians. By tapping on them while focusing on a difficult feeling, stressful thought, or physical tension, many people find that their stress response begins to soften, their emotions feel more manageable, and a sense of clarity emerges.
What makes EFT so special is its simplicity and accessibility; you can use it almost anywhere, and it encourages you to acknowledge your emotional experience rather than push it away. Over time, this practice can help you build a calmer, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
In this journey, you’ll learn how to tap effectively, explore the mind–body connection, and discover how this technique can support emotional grounding and resilience in your daily life.
This session will be led by My Mindset, a Stockport-based VCFSE organisation. It is aimed at those working, volunteering, or starting out in the VCFSE (voluntary, community and faith-based groups, and social enterprise organisations) sector in Stockport.
Refreshments such as tea and coffee will be provided.
