About this Event
How to Build Healthy Self-Care Routines
Healthy routines are more than daily habits, they’re anchors that help regulate your emotional state and support your overall wellbeing. Even simple practices, like gratitude, can shift the chemistry in your body, guiding you away from stress-driven hormones like cortisol and into calmer, more nurturing states supported by oxytocin. In this way, routines become a quiet yet powerful form of self-care.
Daily structure can genuinely set you up for success. Yet many people start their day by unintentionally steering themselves toward negativity: “I don’t want to go to that meeting.” “What if I mess up my presentation?” These thought patterns immediately signal the body to release the stress hormone.
In this journey, we will learn how to create healthy routines that support you rather than drain you. By gently layering new practices onto habits you already have, you’ll reinforce positive behaviour and build a foundation that naturally encourages growth, resilience, and wellbeing.
This session will be led by My Mindset, a Stockport-based VCFSE organisation. It is aimed at those working, volunteering, or starting out in the VCFSE (voluntary, community and faith-based groups, and social enterprise organisations) sector in Stockport.
Refreshments such as tea and coffee will be provided.
