About this Event
Looking for an activity to do together with your friends this month? Want to support local artists and create something meaningful? Get your hands dirty with My Lonely Planet's terrarium workshop!
My Lonely Planet is a woman’s owned terrarium shop, new in Toronto. It was born when they found that they have too many unused glass bottles and jars in their creative hands. They offer workshop with a sustainable approach, teaching art making using moss and other plants as mediums.
What is a terrarium and why moss? Terrarium is an eco-system that keeps plants alive in a jar without needing to water. With the right amount of light and little bit of maintainence, terrariums live for years! My Lonely Planet loves moss because it is self-sustainable and climate-resilient.
My Lonely Planet’s terrarium workshops will bring to the participants not only basic plant knowledge or plant caring methods, but they will learn about building creativity through working with natural materials. The goal of the workshop is to advocate environmentally-conscious design and mindfulness of sustainable processes in art making.
