My First 1000 Days – Safe Spaces and Early Words

Join us for a relaxed, friendly free session designed for parents and carers of babies aged 0-12 months.
You’ll meet other families, enjoy a meal together, and take part in short, practical sessions led by trained family wellbeing workers.

This event focuses on three key topics from our My First 1000 Days programme:

Positive Parenting

• Nurturing and supportive parenting strategies

• Stress‑management techniques

Childproofing & Home Safety

• Spotting hazards in the home

• Inclusive safety planning

• Simple DIY safety tips

Early Conversations

• Encouraging language development through baby talk, songs, storytelling, and play

• Supporting communication in older babies

This session is part of our My First 1000 Days series. Each event is a one‑off — come to as many as you like.

About the research

These sessions are part of the My First 1000 Days study run by the University of Leeds.

After registering, a Family Wellbeing Worker will get in touch to talk about the session, check eligibility, and discuss any needs you might have.

By signing up, you agree that a member of the University of Leeds research team may contact you to explain the research element of the project and answer any questions you may have. Taking part in the research is completely optional.

You’ll be invited to sign the consent form when you arrive.
Taking part in the research (sharing your feedback at the end) is completely voluntary.

Whether or not you choose to share feedback, you can:
