My Birth Recovery 6 week series in Canterbury AND online 22\/04\/26-27\/05\/26 Need support after a difficult pregnancy, bad birth or challenging postnatal period? Join us to heal and find hope again.
About this Event

Hi lovely, this support is designed with you in mind, especially if one of these sounds like your experience:

  • I am overwhelmed and alone in parenthood and I need some support.
  • l had a difficult or traumatic pregnancy, labour, birth or early postnatal period.
  • l felt scared and uncared for at a vulnerable time in my life.
  • l felt trapped / experienced things I didn’t expect or had unwanted interventions.
  • l was ill/ my baby was ill and separated from me.
  • I feel so disappointed about my feeding journey.
  • l am pregnant again and have memories from a previous birth that are causing doubt and fears.
  • l am preparing for birth after a previous caesarean and want to be free from that past experience.
  • l have had a challenging journey with conception, fostering or adoption.

“Your experience may have been very recently or years, even decades ago. If it’s troubling you, then it’s worth getting support and finding some freedom.”
Aileen White, your host

This My Birth Recovery support over 6 weekly sessions aims to provide:

  • a safe place to be heard, to belong and to explore what happened to you.
  • a wide variety of strategies to work through what happened (these will also be transferable to difficult situations you might experience in the future)
  • ways to let go of unhelpful feelings/experiences/beliefs, helping to then build your confidence and resilience over the 12 hours together.
  • time to consider how we can counter the classic birth horror story to be a transformational story of hope.

Available in person OR join us live online:

This hybrid support is available in person in our lovely relaxed lounge (pictured above) in Thanington, Canterbury AND online. We recognise lots of mums need support like this but can’t access it in person. We would love you to be in our circle where we will meet in person and with some of us live on a computer screen. We will keep the group small to ensure everyone is able to join in with the interactive activities and discussions.

Non mobile babies are also very welcome to join us in person or online.

Joining online:

Wherever you live, you can join us live for this support. We will send you the Zoom codes and materials you need in the post if you live in the UK (or send you a list of what you need if you live in another country). If you can, create a place where you live that is quiet, perhaps play some quiet instrumental music and light a candle to set the scene. Bring along some lovely food and a drink to make it a special time just for you each week.

About your host:

Hi lovely, I'm glad you've found your way here, but I am sorry that you need this suppoprt in the first place.

I’m Aileen White (she/her) and I’ve been offering perinatal mental health support (perinatal means before and after birth) to families for the past 13 years since overcoming Tokophobia (fear of childbirth) and becoming a parent myself.

I am the parent of a neurodivergent child and seek to be as inclusive as possible in all I do. Whether your family are neurodivergent, disabled, LGBTQIA+ or global ethnic majority or have other specific needs, I will tailor this support to better suit you whenever possible.

As a qualified, experienced teacher and Trauma Inforemd Ambassador, I am passionate about helping you learn a personalised toolkit of creative strategies to help heal , so you can flourish and thrive. Through our group support, you can heal along side other mums, becoming more resilient and confident in your journey individuallly and together as parents.

Aileen White,

My Birth Support CIC Founding Director

Ps. If you need this support but would prefer to receive a private My Birth Recovery course, we can tailor something especially for you, or for you with your partner. Please do feel free to email me ([email protected]) to ask about bespoke My Birth Recovery support

Some quotes from mums who attended previous My Birth Recovery support:

"I feel physically different after doing that, I’m now relaxed, I feel it in my body. By bringing things into the light, they don’t have such a hold on me”

“Since starting the course, I have been able to deal with and let go of some emotions and feelings that I thought I had to carry with me forever. These feelings were pulling me down and making me feel like a failure to my children. I now feel more confident in myself and as a mother. Thank you Aileen xxx”

“Prior to attending the My Birth course I was unable to think about either of my caesarean births without an overwhelming feeling of guilt, failure & disappointment. Since attending the My Birth course I am now able to look back at my births and the early days that followed with a feeling of pride and achievement. The course has helped me let go of the negative feelings I had and focus on the positives of my births and postnatally.”

”I wasn’t sure if I was trying to do this too early after the birth, but…my partner says I'm more grounded, calmer, more in touch with here and now, mindful…(I’m) not needing alcohol as much…getting in touch with my creative side has helped me avoid getting postnatal depression.”
