About this Event
"We are disabled by the barriers we face rather than our impairments themselves."
- Inclusion Scotland
We are ending the year by celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities day on the 1st December, 4pm to 5pm at CodeClan's Edinburgh Campus.
We want to showcase that peoples ability is not defined by their disabilities and can actually be a strength when it comes to unlocking talent and exceeding in their career.
Our first speaker will be Ric Clark(He/Him), a CodeClan Alumni and currently a Senior Anaplan Anlayst at Miller Homes will speak about his personal journey being Neurodivergent and the impact this has made on his career.
Following on from this, we will have a panel discussion surrounding on how individuals are not defined by their disabilities and how they are helping to limit barriers to work, touching on how manager styles have been adapted , how businesses are changing to support a more diverse workforce and unlocking talent that may have had to endure barriers in the past.
Our panel includes:
- Emma Walker, Auticon
- Lloyds Banking Group
- Alex Wilson, Inclusion Scotland
More names to be announced!
We are looking forward to bringing people together at this face to face event and hope to see you there!
