Muted Minds returns to Typewronger for a series of six, monthly evening sessions. The Muted Minds therapeutic poetry series invite participants to get involved in a joyful exchange of words, punctuation marks, and experiences, co-creating a poem alongside others that document personal and collective narratives of the present. The sessions aim to provide a collective experience that captures the essence of “Docupoetry” facilitating an exploration of the interplay between words and personal encounters that can offer a ‘healing’ outcome. “Docupoetry”, or else documentary poetry, is a form of socially engaged poetry that combines non-literary forms of writing with personal observations, and it is based upon the universal character of language. The universality of language shared inclusively amongst the participants, lays the groundwork for the therapeutic purpose of the process. At the same time, language shapes the journey based on the idea that every rule is made to be broken. Each session will explore a different theme, revealed on the day to amplify spontaneity.
The Muted Minds sessions are open to anyone, and everyone interested in getting involved in a participatory creative process where we will be co-creating poems driven by the documentation of personal and collective narratives of the present. Let’s gather around Typerwonger’s wooden table and (e)m(b)ark on the poetic adventures of the evenings.
