Join Muslim Hikers for an incredible day of hiking and socializing in the beautiful Lake District! In partnership with The North Face and SportsShoes, we invite you to explore Loughrigg Fell and Rydal Cave—a stunning circular hike from Ambleside offering panoramic views of Windermere and the surrounding peaks. This hike coincides with the Kendal Mountain Festival, making it the perfect time to immerse yourself in the outdoor adventure scene.
For those looking to make the most of the weekend, we’re offering an exclusive package that includes a one-night stay at the iconic YHA Ambleside. Nestled right on the edge of Lake Windermere, YHA Ambleside offers breathtaking lakeside views and a fantastic base to explore the Lake District. This idyllic location is just a stone’s throw away from local attractions and provides the perfect setting for a memorable weekend away. Whether you’re staying for the hike or taking advantage of the full weekend experience, you’re in for an unforgettable adventure!
As part of your hike experience, we'll be meeting at the fantastic Force Café in Ambleside, which will serve as our base for the day. Enjoy a pre-hike social with a hot buffet breakfast, or unwind with a post-hike refreshment in this welcoming space, right in the heart of the Lake District.
- Distance: Approx. 9 miles / 14 km
- Total Ascent: Approx. 1,300 feet / 396 meters
- Duration: 5-6 hours
- Difficulty Level: Moderate – Suitable for all abilities, but being physically prepared will help you enjoy the experience more.
This is a fantastic chance to meet like-minded hikers and enjoy a scenic social trek as part of a professionally organised event with qualified mountain guides. All are welcome regardless of religious background or ability. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a first-time walker, we invite you to join us!
- 7:45 AM: Arrival for those joining for the hot buffet breakfast at Force Café.
- 8:45 AM: Arrival for hike-only participants.
- 9:30 AM: Final check-in and pre-hike briefing.
- 10:00 AM: Hike begins.
- 4:00 – 5:00 PM: Return to Force Café for post-hike social.
- 5:00 PM onwards: Optional post-hike social at Force Café.
MEETING POINT:
Force Café, Ambleside, LA22 9DJ
Please meet outside the café for check-in. The café will be open for breakfast before the hike and for our post-hike social.
- Hike Only (£25): Join us for the hike from Ambleside to Loughrigg Fell and back.
- Hike + Hot Buffet Breakfast (£35): Enjoy a hot buffet breakfast at Force Café before the hike. Arrive at 7:45 AM for a pre-hike social.
- Hike + One Night Stay at YHA Ambleside + Hot Buffet Breakfast (£65): Make it a full weekend experience! Enjoy a stay at YHA Ambleside on Saturday night post hike, along with a hot buffet breakfast at Force Café pre hike. This option is perfect for those travelling from afar.
KIT LIST
Hiking boots with ankle support recommended, rucksack, waterproof jacket & trousers, extra layers, water bottle & packed lunch. You will be sent a full kit list via email.
