About Ecstatic dance:
It is a free-form dance practice where participants move to music without choreography-specific steps, focusing on release, connection, and self-expression. It's a form of movement meditation. Dancing freely in solitude and/or in safe, non-sexual, consensual, energetic or physical contact movement with others.
Safe Space:
Ecstatic dance events are often held in safe spaces that promote freedom of expression and self-discovery, with the guideline of
•no talking
•no pictures/video/phones
•no shoes (or outside shoes)
•no intoxicants- to encourage a clear mind in a sober space.
Itinerary and guidelines:
-Doors open at 4:15pm and the suggested arrival time is 4:15-4:25pm
-Remove outside shoes, socks and clean inside shoes are ok.
-Please place phones on
"Do Not Disturb"
-There will be a welcoming statement with some basic instructions and guidelines for newcomers to ecstatic dance.
-Dancing will begin shortly after 4:30pm
-there will be an area set up for resting away from the dance area.
🌟This is a substance-free event.
🌟There will be no talking or phones on the dance floor, allowing people to become fully immersed in the music, movement, and connection to self and community
