About this Event

If you have been struggling with sleep, anxiety or worry about the future, it is easy to blame the mind and circumstances. But yoga texts indicate that it is natural for pain & pleasure to affect us, since our minds are integral to the process of experience. So is there a way to experience something higher than pain & pleasure?

Veteran world-renowned monk Vedaji has put his 40+ years of experience in Bhakti, Vedanta and Hatha Yoga into an unique offering for audiences of different maturities with regards to yoga practice. His retreats take attendees struggling with emotional trauma from tears to cheers to seers, gifting them tools to elevate their consciousness - on demand. And this is the first time he is bringing his offering and special crew to Nashville!

What are we doing?

Vedaji's musical yoga flow (called Bhakti Sandesh) consists of 3 components:

  • Yoga asanas and body locks (bandhas) guided by deep breathwork
  • Yoga Nidra style deep rest meditations
  • Profound Sanskrit chants flowing with chakra-energizing music

Bhakti Sandesh is meant to be a very simple yet energy inducing practice. Plan to be dressed comfortably, and avoid eating 3 hours before the event.

What are we chanting?

When chanting, we seek for our hearts to open in compassion for the pain in our hearts and in the hearts of all sentient beings. "In the divine power of the wisdom of compassion, may the wonder of mercy and forgiveness make my heart free from all guilt, from deepest insight into the causes of suffering in this world."

Sanskrit chanting is a beautiful treasure that is available for all. Through the sounds there is the opportunity to understand that state of freedom that is there always, but which we forget. So bring your voices and spend an enchanted hour filling your hearts with sacred chants. Classic Indian instruments, such as the harmonium and drum accompany the chant, while simple Sanskrit mantras are repeated in a call-and-response building in energy and tempo. This is the practice of Bhakti yoga. The essence of Bhakti Yoga is to reconnect with our fundamental essence of existence - to love and to be loved. Bhakti Yoga is about self-development - being the change we want to see in the world, cultivating compassion, making this world a better place, finding peace of mind and deeper purpose in life. Kirtan, chanting Music, is the language of the heart. Through music, we connect with the essence of our being.

What are we supporting?
