About this Event
Music Sermon Series: Divine Frequency: When Music Becomes Prayer
Series Dates: January 11 – February 15, 2026
Series Overview: What if the divine speaks not just in whispers, but in melodies? What if the Spirit moves not only through silence, but through rhythm, harmony, and song? This transformative six-week journey explores how music becomes a sacred language—from the defiant hope of spirituals born in bondage to the raw honesty of Bruce Springsteen's heartland hymns. Each Sunday, we'll immerse ourselves in a different musical tradition, discovering how bluegrass harmonies mirror heavenly community, how jazz improvisation teaches us about grace, and how protest songs become prayers for justice. Come ready to worship with your whole body—mind, heart, and soul—as we tune our lives to the frequency of the divine.
THIS WEEK: The Gospel According to Bruce. "Born to Run (Toward Justice): The Preacher from Asbury Park"
He may not wear a collar, but Bruce Springsteen preaches with the fervor of an old-time revivalist. From the factories of his New Jersey youth to the promises of American dreams deferred, the Boss chronicles the struggles of ordinary saints—the waitresses and steelworkers, the dreamers and the broken. In his music, we hear the heartbeat of Matthew 25: that the divine is found not in the spotlight, but in solidarity with those society forgets. Today we'll discover why "tramps like us" might just be the congregation Jesus had in mind.
