About this Event
We’re excited to celebrate the opening of our newly upgraded Music Room — transformed into an entry-level recording studio with support from the Manurewa Local Board.
To mark the occasion, we’re hosting a special live concert featuring two incredible acts pushing the boundaries of Aotearoa music.
Greatsouth
The musical project of South Auckland artist Payton Taplin, Greatsouth blends indie alt-rock, taonga pūoro and field recordings to tell stories grounded in the lived realities of urban Māori. Drawing on protest, whakapapa and personal experience, Greatsouth creates powerful music centred on identity, memory and resistance. Recognised by RNZ Music 101, Dazed and Rolling Stone AU/NZ, Greatsouth has performed at major festivals and alongside some of Aotearoa’s leading artists.
LEAO
A bold Samoan musical project creating contemporary Pacific sound, LEAO fuses psychedelic textures, new wave influences and Pacific musical traditions with a strong fa’asamoa spirit. Known for their captivating live shows and emotionally rich performances, LEAO continues to carve new paths for Pacific music while celebrating diasporic identity and cultural pride.
Come celebrate this exciting new creative space with us and experience two standout live performances from some of the most exciting sounds coming out of Aotearoa.
