The Kennedys epitomized the essence of what was once called “folk-rock,” well before any Americana branding came into wide use. A husband-wife duo consisting of multi-instrumentalists Pete and Maura Kennedy, they invest both passion and precision into their music, sharing songs that emanate from emphatic emotion.
In a career that now spans three decades, New York duo Maura and Pete Kennedy have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, organic rock rooted in their early days in Austin, and a Byrds-inspired jangle that drew the attention of McGuinn, Steve Earle, and most notably Nanci Griffith. https://www.kennedysmusic.com/
Music on Malphrus is an affordable, intimate, family-friendly, and smoke-free listening room where people can enjoy live performances featuring musicians who tour both nationally and internationally.
Performances are held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry at 110 Malphrus Road in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Tickets are $25 (unless otherwise noted). Seating is general admission.
Doors open at 6:15p.m. Performances begin at 7:00p.m.
