The Salix Piano Trio explores three contrasting masterworks of the piano trio repertoire. Violinist Joanna Maurer, cellist Alberto Parrini, and pianist Anna Stoytcheva will perform Beethoven’s youthful and spirited Piano Trio in E-flat major, Op. 1, No. 1 – a bold and original work that reveals the young composer’s eagerness to prove himself. In contrast, Paul Schoenfeld’s Café Music offers a lively and soulful blend of classical technique with jazz-inspired playfulness. After intermission, the program concludes with Brahms’s lyrical and passionate Piano Trio No. 1 in B major, Op. 8.
