Music of the Windrush Era

This talk, with author Tony Fairweather and Ciyo Brown, will discuss the heritage of music from the Windrush Generation and it's impact on the UK music scene.

Born in Jamaica, Ciyo arrived in England at the age of six months old. From early beginnings he was encouraged to engage in music and to play the guitar by his father. Ciyo has performed with a wealth of internationally acclaimed artists, including included Caron Wheeler, Ann Nesby, Ruby Turner, Annie Lennox, Suggs, YolanDa Brown, Jason Rebello, and soca queen Alison Hinds. He has released five albums to date, and current projects include a focus on his World Music Acoustic Trio featuring Colin McNeish.
