In this extraordinary concert, Palestinian-Canadian pianist and composer John Kameel Farah embraces elements of Baroque and Near-Eastern music, improvisation and electronic music to create what he calls “Arabic-Baroque-Cyberpunk.” Surrounding the piano with synthesizers, he combines a vivid and playful imagination with virtuosic musicianship. Accompanied by projections of his intricate ink drawings, the performance sounds through the lens of Palestinian struggle, identity and heritage, drawing connections across histories and liberation movements.
